This short story, called Welcome to FC 25 Coins, starts as soon as players launch the game, but it can be skipped. It shows David Beckham having breakfast in a balcony, before moving on to interactive cutscenes that let fans create an avatar for Volta. It also includes some drills that re-introduce gameplay mechanics and ends with a full playable match of FC 25. Essentially, everything that players experienced when starting a new FIFA game for the first time has been put together in a mini story mode of sorts. It aims to give players a glimpse of some of the features that have been added while also letting them play around with the new gameplay mechanics.
While FIFA 25 and FIFA 25 shipped with a proper story mode inside Volta, and previous games featured The Journey, FC 25 will not launch with any sort of a narrative-driven campaign. Instead, EA has focused on adding features and enhancing various aspects of every game mode, including changes to Volta as well as Career Mode. It does look like improvements have been made across the board, but Ultimate Team will remain the main competitive game mode of FC 25.
Anyone who is subscribed to EA Play can currently play FC 25 for up to 10 hours, before the release of the ultimate edition on September 27. However, players have unlimited access to the FC 25 Web App that lets them trade players and complete squad building challenges in order to earn packs. They can also use the Web App to open Preview Packs in FC 25 that are refreshed every 24-hours. Players are advised to fully close the game on their console in order to stop the timer from counting down.
